Frog Follies 09

Beautiful weather, custom rides, and happy faces as far as the eye can see.  No doubt about it, this would be the best way to describe the 2009 Frog Follies in Evansville, IN.  My only regrets are that I didn't have longer to spend time with the attendees and those that traveled so far to enjoy the company of other hot rodders. I showed up to the Frog Follies, which is located every year out at the Evansville 4H Grounds, around 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon.  At this time there were still hundreds of people filing in, 2 by 2 in some places, a sight in itself to behold.  And once on the grounds...

Diarrhea Pool Sign On East Side

Well, one of my great friends snapped this shot with her cell phone from an apartment complex on the East side. To be honest, I think it's a great reminder we all need to heed when going for a public swim. Although while thinking about it, this should apply to more things than just swimming and why doesn't the pool I use have this sign up? I guess they just don't care.

Howell Park Evansville Picture

Yeah, yeah, so I go golfing on a beautiful day and only take one picture.  Well, this one picture should put a smile on your face, at least it did the attendant in the club house at Howell Park on Saturday when I went golfing. Maybe they should take this guy down, it is awfully close to the minature golf course.  And perhaps once they finish the pool it will be a lot busier and if you stare long enough it becomes a little offensive( or maybe just intimidating).

Evansville, IN Jan 09 Ice Storm Pics

In January 2009 there was a nasty ice storm that hit Evansville, In.  My yard, like others, was covered with up to 6 inches of ice in some places.  Luckily, this never knocked out my power. It's been a few months, but I'm just now getting around to posting pictures of this ice storm.  These are pics from my front hard and a close up of some of the small trees I had out front.  We were lucky, compared with some people in Kentucky, who I know still don't have power.
