2015 Expressway Jeep Jubilee

As a new Jeep owner, I’ve been looking for local events to take part in. Saturday October 3rd, 2015 there was a Jeep Jubilee at the Expressway dealership in Mt. Vernon, IN. I was able to attend, but was not in a position to be a part of the show. This didn’t stop me from taking some pictures of the many Jeeps that showed up!

I'd also like to mention the amazing Evansville Jeep club, Evansville Area Jeepers. This club showed up in full force, with a huge convoy rolling in from Evansville. Evansville Area Jeepers or EAJ, support the local community by taking part in fund raising events. The club helps with Toys for Tots and has a capable Crisis Response Team. If you are looking for a family friendly Jeep club and wonderful people to share Jeep stories with, be sure to check out EAJ at EVVJeep.com.

May Showers in June

Evansville weather has been positively unpredictable lately. The past 3 weeks have been filled with local weather people calling for rain, but it never shows up. If it does, it’s extremely spotty and actually never reaches my house. May 2015 weather for Southern Indiana has been very odd, to say the least. We haven’t even had any real thunderstorms, to speak of.

Yesterday, the predictions were right, we actually had a thunderstorm early in the morning. Although the storms passed, we did experience a great soaking rain for the better part of the day. It was mid afternoon before the sun actually poked it’s head out and made for a beautiful end to a day, albeit a little humid. I took the opportunity to play with our family’s new Canon Rebel, with some extremely amateur photos of our flowers below.

When Is Frog Follies 2014?

The immensely popular event, Frog Follies, which features antique cars and hot rods is coming back to on Evansville on August 22, 23, and 24th. This event takes up the entirety of the Vanderburgh County 4H Fair Grounds, showing off cars, fun events, and trade. It’s an event that I try to take in every year and one that my daughter has even started looking forward to.

Frog Follies will be celebrating it's 40th Anniversary in 2014, so expect many special events.  Like previous years, the Frog Follies are appropriate for the entire family!  So, weather permitting, bring the kids young and old.

Below are some pictures I took from the 2011, 2012, and 2013 Frog Follies.

Owensboro Convention Center Almost Finished

Drive by pictures of the Owensboro Convention Center, scheduled to be completed in January 2014.

It's an Evansville Blog, but I spent some time in Owensboro today, which allowed me to drive by the new convention center.  I've got some photos to follow, sorry for the window glare, it was just too cold to roll down.  Let me just state, this thing is an amazing piece of architecture to look at.

Fall Sunsets In Evansville, IN

Social networking has changed yet again, this time in the form of an update to Twitter.  Most pictures are now automatically loaded in line within the newsfeed, as opposed to opened once the individual tweet is selected.  This means, whether I want it or not, I'm subjected to peoples image tweets.  Initially I hated it, but now it's growing on me, and has allowed me to enjoy the beautiful sunsets Fall in Evansville, Indiana has to offer.
