2015 Expressway Jeep Jubilee

As a new Jeep owner, I’ve been looking for local events to take part in. Saturday October 3rd, 2015 there was a Jeep Jubilee at the Expressway dealership in Mt. Vernon, IN. I was able to attend, but was not in a position to be a part of the show. This didn’t stop me from taking some pictures of the many Jeeps that showed up!

I'd also like to mention the amazing Evansville Jeep club, Evansville Area Jeepers. This club showed up in full force, with a huge convoy rolling in from Evansville. Evansville Area Jeepers or EAJ, support the local community by taking part in fund raising events. The club helps with Toys for Tots and has a capable Crisis Response Team. If you are looking for a family friendly Jeep club and wonderful people to share Jeep stories with, be sure to check out EAJ at EVVJeep.com.

Boo At The Zoo 2012 Review

Review of the 2012 Boo at the Zoo and improvements I think need to be made to maintain a quality annual event.

The 2012 Mesker Park Boo at the Zoo was, as usual, a treat for my 5 year old daughter. However, as a parent reviewing a local Zoo event, I was a little less than impressed. Lack of animals, treats, and interaction round out my disappointment for 2012. It would appear that the annual event has been in decline since the relaunch, when Amazonia first appeared.

The first year of Boo at the Zoo, when Amazonia first opened, I thought was the peak of the event. Visitors were met with countless hands on interactions with animals and Mesker staff. While waiting in the enormous line, Zoo employees were walking around with bunny rabbits and other small animals for kids to pet. Throughout the trail, scattered around the Zoo, were also countless animal interactions.

The Hadi Shriner Fest in Evansville

It was a real bummer finding out that the Blue Angels weren't going to be able to make it to the 2011 Hadi Shrine Fest in Evansville.  However, the air show wasn't the only reason to attend this year, there are plenty of other events going on, which started on June 9th and will continue on until tomorrow afternoon.  Starting at 1:00 today there will be a number of air shows going on for your entertainment.  If you live in Evansville then you've heard them practicing the past few days.

-Stearman's (Bi-Plane) 1:00-1:05pm
-US Coast Guard Search and Rescue
Demonstration 1:05-1:25pm
-T-6's 1:25-1:35pm
-KC-135 Flyover 1:35-1:55pm
-Billy Werth's Grayout Aerobatics
-1:55-2:15pm
-Red Star and The Dragon 2:15-2:35pm
-B-2 Stealth Bomber 2:50-2:55pm
-F-15 Strike Eagle 3:00-3:20pm

The Stealth Bomber still holds so much mystery and amusement to me, it'll probably be the highlight for me.  Although you'll want to be downtown and paying attention, because it'll be here and gone before you know it!

What are the Hadi Shrine Fest Events for Saturday?

Just a reminder that the Fest is absolutely free to the public.  However, there is a Bierstube available to the adults which has a $5 admission.  If you have any pictures of the event, please send them to me, I'll be happy to get them posted.
