Just heard on the news this morning that the newly revamped pool at Howell Park will be opening today. The pool is named after Norman Red Mosby, a late Perry Township Trustee. Mosby worked to better the west side of Evansville for 40 years and this pool is in remembrance of him.
The official ribbon cutting will be held today at 2:30, for those looking to attend.
I can tell you that this pool is a great addition to Evansville. It's in a great location with plenty of parking and the work that I've seen makes this pool top notch. It's colorful, big, and even features a 150 ft water slide. It's a...

Twitter is a popular and exponentially growing online communication tool used by virtually everyone. Think of the service as like a one way conversation that allows you to listen into what certain individuals are doing, right when it's happening. Now, the conversations don't have to be one way, the ability to subscribe to each others updates is what makes Twitter a social phenomenon.
So who uses Twitter in Evansville and why should you follow them?
ME - Myself and this blog are on twitter, so you can be notified of new blog posts and what I'm doing on a semi-personal basis....

Is it just me or did local news exaggerate the meth lab fire at Motel Manor in Boonville? All over the head lines was EXPLOSION, when really it was a small mishap that caused minmal fire damage. Just seems like poor reporting, when a more accurate headline would have read 'Meth Fire At Motel Manor'.
After seeing video of room 14 where the reported meth production was taken place I didn't notice any damage, besides some light fire damage. Not that this justifies what was going on, personally I'm glad the meth makers are accounted for.
In addition, I was not aware that meth makers made their...

I'm not sure why 1280 AM in Evansville decided to cancel Michael Savage and bring on a poor man's Rush Limbaugh, but they did. I completely understand that Savage is an extremist, but I need him to help balance out what I'm being exposed to every day anyways, the extreme left. Since he's been removed from the line up and he's been replaced with Glen Beck, what am I supposed to get angry about on the way home in the evenings?
I dropped an email to 1280 the week Savage was taken off air, but never received a response. Maybe I was the only one that appreciated the rantings, the anger, the in your...

Looks like police in Evansville had a busy weekend. According to the Courier Press, city police handed out over 270 tickets, made 20 criminal arrests, and arrested 3 individuals on drunk and driving charges.
The ramp up of law enforcement in the area was part of the Indiana Operation Combined Accident Reduction Effort(C.A.R.E.) and Statewide Driving Under the Influence Project. The last public report stated that C.A.R.E. was responsible for reducing fatal injuries on the highways by more than 20% in the last decade.
Specifically, projects like this focus on drunk driving crashes and reducing the...
