It's an Evansville Blog, but I spent some time in Owensboro today, which allowed me to drive by the new convention center. I've got some photos to follow, sorry for the window glare, it was just too cold to roll down. Let me just state, this thing is an amazing piece of architecture to look at.
I'm hoping, with the aggressive lines, this seemingly modern architecture, won't look dated in a few years. Right now it looks cool, but once we get 10 years away, will the city of Owensboro regret going with such an aggressive design?
There were a number of cranes next to the convention center, so it's not quite ready to host events yet. I know for a fact that they are already booking for at least the month of April. Perhaps sooner? According to the website they will be ready to roll sometime in January.
