Admin-

Well, really the only thing that irritates me about the whole thing, is that you all are totally right. The bad drivers we have (about half of them unfortunately) make us all look bad, and upper managment and poor planning from the city, add it all up and its really one sad situation. I understand expressing your feelings, afterall thats what these things are all about right? LOL I can't say much negative at work so here I am, right along with ya! Really the only way anyone would truely understand why some drivers are the way they are is to be one, we are constantly treated like dirt day in and day out, and after awhile unfortunately doing that job you begin to loose faith in people as a whole. Best wishes-Driver

Mr. Driver, thank you so much for leaving a comment. :)

Generalizing is unfortunately all we have to go on and is human nature. There are always exceptions to the rule as you are proof positive, your service is appreciated.

For the 'punch comment', there was humor attached to the violence. I'd never lay a hand on another individual, but I do like expressing how I feel in violent text. Hope this makes sense and hope you decide to hang around. :)

I am a METS bus driver, I already posted about the bus stops in the other thread and completely agree, but the attitude towards bus drivers in here agrevates me. I realize some of our drivers are not as friendly as they should be, but many are nice as can be and would bend over backwards to help someone out. Also about stops, when you board a bus you do not tell the driver where you want off, you pull the chime cord one block ahead of the stop you want, if you do not pull that cord or inform the driver one block ahead that you would like the next stop, yes the bus will go right past it. A bus driver sometimes a thousand people a day and you cannot expect him to remember each stop that a passenger wants, thats why you pull the cord. I do not doubt that the driver laughed at you at all, I personally find it rude and unprofessional to do that, he should have informed you of how stops work rather than laugh at you, but Im sure it was nothing personal, we deal with complete idiots all day long, many nice people too, but often regulars who have ridden for years and still due to stupidity and ignorance do not understand how to ride a bus, those yes we laugh at. Whenever I have someone tell me they are new to the bus I make certain the understand how to ride and that we will get them where they need to go and also how to get back. As for the punching a driver in the throat comment, I would invite you to do it my friend, you would not only go to jail with witnesses who saw you do it and being on film doing that, but that lucky driver would be a rich man.

See another benefit to having fewer stops, they would be almost guaranteed to stop at everyone then, no questions. As for the driver laughing at you, I don't doubt it.

I understand it's gotta be a terrible job, but I was raised differently. It doesn't matter if I was flipping burgers or closing a $100,000 deal, I did it to the best of my ability and with a smile. Maybe you would have got your point across if you had punched him in his throat.

About, ohhh.. seven years ago I had to take the bus due to vehicular ineptitude. When I boarded the bus I told the driver specifically which stop I wanted to stop at.

Of course, he cruised right through it. About 6 blocks later I coerced him into pulling over and letting me out. I asked for a refund... and he laughed at me.
Needless to say, I never took the bus in Evansville again.
